FAITH-BASED MICROSCHOOL + HOMESCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES IN LINCOLN, NE
FAMILIES EVERYWHERE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT
We opened our microschool in Lincoln, NE because the traditional school model is no longer the best fit for every family or child. ​ Families everywhere are looking for microschools, hybrid schools, homeschool groups, and and other innovative educational options. Kids need more movement, time outside, and free play. Parents are looking for a school where a child can grow at their own pace and get individualized instruction in a nurturing, loving environment. Traditional values have slipped away, and families are looking for a school that supports the beliefs they're teaching at home.
At Petrichor, we have multiple options to meet the needs of families in Lincoln, Malcolm, Seward, Crete, and the surrounding area. We have our full time microschool where students can attend Monday - Thursday, and all the academics and life skills are covered. And, instead of sending home hours of homework each night, family time is prioritized and school work is completed at school. Curriculum and instruction are based on research best practices, not on trends or government decisions.

We also have incredible homeschool enrichment classes, called the Petrichor Learning labs, where homeschool families can come out to campus for part-time homeschool enrichment.

Here, kids can be kids and families are prioritized. We have flexible options to meet your needs, and love to support in any way we can.

WHAT IS PETRICHOR?
Petrichor School was born out of a vision to create a place for children to be empowered + equipped for the life for which God has created them. It exists to build a nurturing + exciting place for students to thrive as individuals and within the classroom community. Gone are the days of teaching to the test or simply memorizing materials. At Petrichor, students are deeply known, and the curriculum is curated to best meet their needs + interests.

Our microschool is open for full time enrollment grades K-5th. Placements for older grades will be available as needed. With small class sizes, personalized learning, and a focus on whole-child development, our microschool blends strong academics with creativity, outdoor exploration, and meaningful connection—helping each child grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability.Students come Monday-Thursday 9:00-3:30pm.
Our Petrichor Learning Labs are BRAND NEW! A flexible, part-time enrichment experience designed especially for homeschool families. Learning Labs give students the opportunity to collaborate with peers, explore hands-on projects, and dive deeper into topics they love - all without parents needing to plan, facilitate, or clean up. It’s the perfect balance of independence and community.

Personalized, one-on-one or small group tutoring support tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. Whether a child needs help catching up, building confidence, or being challenged further, our tutoring focuses on strengthening skills, deepening understanding, and helping students feel successful in their learning.

The school calendar is fairly traditional, with family days scheduled throughout the year for monthly field trips + other extra special events.

At Petrichor, you're not alone in your parenting journey. We will have regular family events to help connect like-minded families, encourage one another, and lean into our special community.
We are beyond happy with our decision to move our daughter to Petrichor! It is the perfect mix between homeschool and traditional schooling. We have seen major improvements in her mood in the evenings and she is always eager to go to school in the mornings. The teacher's credentials are outstanding, they communicate with us regularly, and they provide a safe environment for our daughter to learn and grow. The kiddos get lots of outside time, which we LOVE!

ABOUT US
As the Director and teacher at Petrichor, it is my greatest privilege to get to work with your child(ren). I have been teaching and coaching since 2006, and have teaching degrees in elementary education and special education from Doane College. I also have my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane, as well as a plethora of advanced coursework specifically focused on developing individualized instruction, classroom community, differentiation....
UPCOMING EVENTS
Learning Labs start April 7th, 2026. ​
They will run Tue + Thurs from 1-4pm for 5 weeks for ages 9-12. It's $25/class or $250 for the whole session. If this spring session doesn't fit your schedule, Sign up for information about the Fall Session, where we will hopefully have expanded ages and additional times.
